Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

HPE Today: Layoffs, then layoffs followed with even more layoffs

Layoffs, more layoffs, then more layoffs, that's the mantra. Layoffs at HPE never stop, OK? You'll get used to this very quickly and people hunker down, to whatever minimum job they need to do, they forget about clients, quality, service, customer service, etc. Clients suffer. Everyone is so numb to layoffs now - stay afloat is the mantra, survive...

Yes, the constant layoffs will kill a service organization.

Maybe Meg and team need to listen to her old employer McKinsey and Companay more closely.

Creating lasting value (excerpts from McKinsey article by Bill George linked here: http://www.mckinsey.com/global-themes/leadership/bill-george-on-rethinking-capitalism

"I don’t subscribe to the notion that companies exist to create value strictly for their shareholders. I think they are there to create value for their customers, and that gets to the mission of the company. And ultimately, doing that, they create value for society.

If they forget about that, they have no legitimacy, they have no right to exist, no matter how much short-term shareholder value they create. And the shareholder value is misunderstood. It comes as a result of great value for your customers that leads to growth, and that comes from engaged employees that are innovative and provide superior customer service."

IMHO - Constant layoff lead to disengaged employees, which is what I saw my last few years with HP/HPE........
