That's the rumor, I heard that it'll be closed before summer. It's on Harbor Blvd in Costa Mesa, in Orange County, California. Good luck to all people who work there but I can tell you that the company has no future and if you are with KMART you may want to start looking for a different job and there will be more and more job cuts and layoffs at KMART - stores will continue to close.

This is the oldest Kmart of the 35 still standing. Costa Mesa opened in 1963!
2020 and its still open!!
Lets see how long this store will last
This is an ancient, AND WRONG thread from around 2016. What is the point of bumping a dumb and false thread such as this? Somebody just spewed out some false information 4 Years ago, and it remains false even now. There is no reason for a silly thread like this to even exist.
4 years later and the store is still open. Although our time is probably near the end. We are still here!! To the person that says you have to go thru a labyrinth to get a real person has obviously never called our kmart. A live person answers the phone, always has always will.
Let's see if we are still here in June <3
It's still open...I'm placing my online order for some great deals on cat food right now!
Posted 12-29-18. Attention kmart shoppers! Previous post is right about execs taking excess profits. May be better for employees and customers for court to break the company up and sell to those who might restore as separate businesses. But CEO has long time wall street connections, so who knows. If all stores close, property sold, creditors paid, stockholders lose all, it wont help the us economy which seems to be on the brink of recession again.
Without a doubt its closing. Its minimally staffed, it looks poorly maintained both in appearance aand in its stock. A quick indicator is a stores return policy and its customer service . If you call KMart/Sears you get a laberenth of optiins to reach a person and when you do it wasnt worth the effort. The staff here is poorly trained and certainly not trained to grow even maintain a customer base but rather to attempt to manage the massive closeout process take in as much revenue as possible with minimal overhead. Its shows clearly when a company is in position to buy big as both these were that passing savings on to its customers is critical . You take care of them they take care of you. Just as Wal-Mart has and does. This is the main reason structure has to be fluid and the focus on the customer be kept forbwithout them the company isn't around for long. People go where ever theyre taken care of and their needs and their families needs or rather their wellbeing will decide where they place their business. Searsvans KMart put the profits in execs pockets not back into the company and didn't use its buying power to benefit its loyal customer base passing savings on strengthening that customer base and keeping the competition at bay by offering the best for lesser than the competition could because they were in the best buying position - no they paid management these profits and so sealed their fate. When things went south changing personal is puttingva bandaid on what needs stitches. Its not who but how needed to be changed. Study the buaoness model and thebcustomers needs are they copasetic ? Theyd better be....
Was there on Sunday. They are closing. Everything is on sale.
It's sad!
Still open and shoppers still come in in bunches
I am working at Kmart store part time. I like it because it is very close to my home. I don't complain, that's how business going, may be something good come up later.
