I was laid off for the first time in my career, thank you for laying me off I found a better job with a fantastic salary and benefits, if I wasn't laid off I never would have experienced a company that respects me and my talents. I was actually told I was valuable, thank you Verizon because of your mistakes I've been trained and able to know the difference between a bad company and a good one.

I worked for VZ at a flat salary for decades. People with less than 5 years of my experience are earning better than me outside.

I worked for VZW for 16 Years, 6 months ago got a promotion. I was doing the job on an interim basis since the person who was out on STD. Then I was offered the job. I was told I'd have to work out of another location. So I sold my house & relocated (my own money to move) since I wanted to keep my new job. Then I got notice that my job no longer existed. So here I am 6 months later , no job, no house and 130 miles away from my closest family members. But I do have to say I am glad that I no longer have to live with the daily stress of wondering if I will have a job with that company. I never had a bad review in all my years of employment there. Big business it doesn't matter who you are. The next chapter in my life/job will be doing something that makes me happy , fulfilled and worthehile
Hopefully the better job is with the competition.

Congrats on your new position! It is very encouraging to hear there is life after Verizon. Things haven't been going as well for our family since the big VZW layoff, but we are hoping luck turns around soon.
