Until we get a mail from HR I won't be satisfied it's over in the uk. I haven't heard of any redundancies in engineering in the UK so far. Which departments in the UK have been impacted?
I was 'at risk' in a group of just one....me! Not difficult to work out how this panned out, but they did treat us with dignity and the severance package was pretty generous. In the UK, we are lucky that there are rules and regs to ensure that folks are not badly treated (but I suppose that is just a point of view!). The US and other countries seem to have no respect for human decency under these circumstances!
I've heard from a friend they are at risk under group consultation which means more than a certain number. This time the emails were not sent out and it was done quieter. He is very paranoid as they had a lot of legal speak about keeping confidential if wanted settlement or to keep job via the consultation process. He didn't know who the others were himself.
