At least one good thing has come out of the 'getting more efficient' drive in Chevron. As of January 1, 2016 D&C employees (at least DWEP) no longer have to submit a mandatory behavior-based safety (BBS) observation per month. While it did make sense in the field, it was total nonsense for office-based employees with 99% of all observations being elevator/escalator/stairs usage and the occasional 'jay walking' entry for the crossing between 1400 and 1600 Smith.
After they also increased the HUET requirement from 3 years to 4 years in 2015, I wonder what is next. Maybe a commentary drive only every other year ?
