Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Last day on payroll 12/31.. bittersweet

My official last day in the office was bloody Thursday. I left with my head held high after a decades worth of service. On a positive note, I have received (and accepted), another offer of employment starting January 4th. I hope this offers some encouragement to those who may have been impacted by the latest round, or by any future rounds of layoffs. External companies know about the talent being released. What may be Verizon's loss will inevitably be someone else's gain.

Just a side note... for those that can, you may want to log into "About You", and retrieve copies of your performance agreements, W2's etc... just a thought.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT : DOWNLOAD copies of your performance agreements(to use for your Resume) and paystubs and W2s .... before you lose access, they turned off my remote VPN and company access to eweb on my last day. You will have access to Benefits Connections for address, email changes (BE SURE TO ADD YOUR HOME E-MAIL TO EVERYTHING) ... Logon to Benefits Connections often because they leave important "To-Do" messages for you even though they already have your e-mail (Huh?)

Nice post & Thanks for the advice. Will we still have access to "AboutYou" after the 31st? If we want to make changes to address or tax information.

How quickly a good company can turn into a bad one is what I meant to say :)

Good advice. I go in tomorrow to turn in all my VZ crap. Good luck in your new job. Yes Verizon is going to lose a lot of talent. I will never forget this experience and how quickly a company company can turn into a bad one.
