Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Staples LP is taking it in the shorts again. Long terms managers who have dedicated their lives to make a difference, GONE

Does not seem quite right, that Staples should lay off some many seasoned experienced LP employees, but they really do not care. People that have made the difference over the years and put the company on the map, as having one of best shrink numbers in the industry, not including retail, as management keeps laying-off people in the stores which allows for free shopping. I ask you where is our sniveling VP of Loss Prevention, he is under his desk, or someone else's, saying and doing nothing. He is by far the worst manager I have known, he is a ghost. During the summer, he goes on store visits ( which is a code phrase) with his wimpy side kick, I really did not know that Staples owns any golf courses. Upper management I would keep an eye on this one. It is the people in the field that make him look good and he treats them like dog poop. Well you are in the thick of it now, what you have done will only have terrible repercussions in the future. If ANY one is looking for employment in the LP Field with Staples, stop looking and look else where. You can do better.

"Hopefully the LPM on the Advantage side got the axe when I worked at this joke of a company. Never could quite figure out what his purpose in life was. All he did was sit all day staring at the camera feeds from the SDO's and b--ched about who had alarm codes and keys to the building. Wish I could remember the overweight glob of greases name."

Must be the same fat f*** I'm thinking of, b--ched and moaned about the same things, along with who had a master key and why, all the while sitting on his can watching the camera's for nothing. But, it would take him month's to get camera's repaired when they went out.

Hopefully the LPM on the Advantage side got the axe when I worked at this joke of a company. Never could quite figure out what his purpose in life was. All he did was sit all day staring at the camera feeds from the SDO's and bitched about who had alarm codes and keys to the building. Wish I could remember the overweight glob of greases name.

My ALPM called to let me know he was let go. Pretty decent guy. He would point out some minor things before doing his audit so I could correct them. Better than the a**hole I had previously.

Is that a confirmation that he kept his job? Would love to hear that he got let go. He screwed over a good friend of mine to score brownie points with Vinnie (there was a DM spot opening up at that time). If this idiot kept his job while many other good LPMs got let go, it just shows how poor this company is doing. Sorry to those decent, hardworking guys that got let go, but anyone that thinks they have a future with this company is setting themselves up for disappointment.

"Does not seem quite right," These guys stood by and watched the same thing play out in stores. Some even helped the RVPs dig up dirt on GMs they wanted gone. And now they are going to cry about layoffs in LP???? Sorry should have seen it coming, HR is next.

Give me a break. I had 4 different people on my case over LP shit. Definitely room for cuts.

Their was our main district FLPM, and then three different lp auditors that came in at various times besides the audits every 6 months. All of them had different standards and when we did what one told us to do the other would criticize and/or take points off the audit.

The FLPM was a piece of work, didn't answer his phone or respond to emails half the time, but had my AM written up for not answering an alarm call when he was 300 miles away on vacation.

There is no doubt some of the affected LP people were dedicated and hard working, but there was absolutely room for cuts in LP. There is really no more room to cut in stores.

Hopefully Mike Hanley did get let go.

There may have been some good LP managers but most of the ones I dealt with were pompous assholes.
