These wireless price wars are starting to remind me of when my mother in law goes into Kohl's to shop. With all the deals and coupons they offer, by the time she's done shopping it's almost like they'r paying her money! Maybe Verizon should borrow another hundred billion bucks and buy out all the rest of the wireless carriers. Then they can have a monopoly again and dictate prices that are profitable. Might as well buy Yahoo, also, while you've got your checkbook out. Of course the 8000 canned employees, the current "walking dead" lower management, and the 35,000 union people getting their pensions and 401k's messed will be shaking their heads at this, but that's just because they don't understand the superior intelligence of the upper management of this company. Way to run a company, (into the ground, that is) boys!

-3pzr, right on. They always have the propaganda flavored kool-aid on tap. and they guzzle it. and they conveniently over look the BIGGEST DEBT for buying vodafone.
laughable at best, thanks for calling them out.
Labeling people you disagree with amoebas? A little pompous, aren't we, 2sxb (and your "buddy" 2xsh)?
The buyout of Vodafone had a larger price tag than the GDPs of 84% of the world's nations individually. Therefore it must have been incredibly lucrative for us to severe ties with them. And Vodafone's did good too in the divorce, with their stock hitting highs at about the time of separation, and never going down to the pre-breakup price levels again. It appears to be a win win.
In no way do these facts diminish the value of others still within the organization however, the "minor" people as you say, 2xsh. I would be interested to know how important or, as you say, impotent, you yourself are 2xsh? It's usually the small man (or woman) who finds gratification in belittling others worth.
I don't think any woman or man who has dedicated their life's work to building up this company, and maintaining its systems deserve to be labeled minor and impotent.
It's this "Let Them Eat Cake" mindset that is troublesome, the total disregard and lack of respect for those who have built this juggernaut, and keep it all from falling apart in the face of adversity.
Show some respect 2sxh. It's been earned and it's due.
What's so major about vodaphone? Are you kidding me? How about one, if not THE BIGGEST wireless company on the planet. Get your head Outta your butt! Tiresome dealing with amoeba.
ahhhh dear! So true. None so blind as those who refuse to see.
That's 325%.
2xsh, most 30 year payouts are not that far a cry from the $1 million mark. If you make it with no strings attached (i.e., medical coverage in retirement), it's an even more attractive option. I'm not sure who you think you are, or why you're labeling those folks impotent and minor. I think those comments say more about you than it does about them.
What was so major about the vodophone people, 333% more major?
21up The vz board would never agree to paying such "minor people" that kind of money. You give yourself way too much importance. You need to realize, in this situation, you are more impotent, than important.
2wee, if there was an interest in having the union gone why didn't they just give the 40,000 or so union members still employed here $1 mil each to leave? That would have cost less than 1/3 of the cost of ridding themselves of Vodophone, and eliminated the entire unionized workforce in one fell swoop.
MVNO (mobile virtual network operators) are beginning to hurt att, t-mobile and sprint, BUT MVNOs will bludgeon VZs operating revenues forcing it to.make deeper and deeper cuts, slimming down profits to a razors edge and damaging the company to its core. All this is a direct result of paying a ma$$ive $130,000,000,000 for vodaphone's share of vz wireless, using all borrowed $$$$$.
The layoffs so far are just the tip of the iceburg. Thousands, even tens of thousands, will need to go and Union layoff clauses, I assure you, will be swept aside by hook or crook. The Union leaders realize this and this is the reason a strike has not, and is very unlikely to, materialize. If a strike does occur it will be a.total rout of the Union by the company. Make no mistake the company has spent many millions, with one goal, and only one goal, to rid itself of the Union forever. VZ does NOT want a new contract with the Union, it needs the Union GONE. As time goes on, vz will become increasingly desperate, to rid itself of the Union, resulting in ever increasing EISPs being offered. The Union knows the company has no interest in settling the contract. That is why the Union is doing all it can to stop members from walking. Without doubt this is a fight the Union will NOT win. Why? Because it's not about a new contract, for vz this is a death fight. The company want to kill the Union once and for all. The Union is using its head the members their emotions.
You use 14GB of data? wifi would work wonders for you.
At my current usage leves, My Project Fi bill would be nifty $160, 20 bucks for voice and 140 bucks for 14 GB of data that I typically use
How many WATCHED mobile ads will it take to pay that back..?
My Project Fi bill was a whopping $28 this month including taxes. McDumba$$ is going to have to take a pay cut to compete with that.
You mean like when Verizon will pay you $650 to switch? A year ago that kind of promotion would have seemed insane.
