Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

We have nothing to do???

I made a mistake and moved to AMBU 2 years ago. There is nothing going on. Everyone is hiding at home. Employees show up and then leave after an hour. We are not drilling a well this year. Even the emails have stopped. Are the other BU's doing anything?

Yea PRC, Ouch. So easy to second guess everything thing today. I don't think any place is safe and Chevron sucks. So I guess we roll the dice and maybe snake yes is actually winning. As this will be repeated again.

You think you have it bad? I'm in PRC, which is Project Resources. And, we have no upcoming projects to work on, and cancelled some big projects. I should have stayed in ETC, with my comfy SME role.

I am always amazed at how Noone at Chevron knows WTF is going on. From Watsons mouth....................................................... We have been on a pathway in the Permian of first assessing

what we have. So we've been drilling both vertical and horizontal wells. Over the last year, we've really converted our entire program to horizontal

wells and really getting -- an overused term -- but getting our factory model in place. And we've done that. And our costs are now very competitive

with some of the best in the business. So that is taking place. We want to continue that effort.

Our view is not that prices are going to stay at the low range they are today, but part of living within your means is limiting just how many rigs you

deploy. We've got 6 operated rigs today. We've got 14 NOJV rigs that are operating today and we think that's about the right balance. We have

flexibility to move up and what I've told our people, if they stay on the cost trajectory that they are, we're going to look to fund them.

Well I don't know what he or she does. But they are not doing any work. That is true. If you are a drilling engineer and not drilling for 2 years, there in nothing to do. Most of you Fvcktards just repeat deadwood. The point is the BU is finished. And all of you are deadwood when we loose 600 million for quarter.

Ditto as the other shareholders/employee's comments. If you are not contributing, you are Dead Wood and need to be removed from the tree to keep it from falling down even more than it has.

Yeah. I am bored. I don't have any work. I show up and stay for an hour or so and leave. Boring. But hey getting a great paycheck. My supervisor told me to just look busy or stay put of sight. Same in other departments .

so people don't even work (or at least are AT work) for 8 hours a day ?

Nice ... this is where the money is going ?

If there is no work send them to other BUs or cut them loose.

OP, About the time you moved up there, I was having the bug put in my ear to consider an opportunity there in AMBU. I politely refused the opportunity because I wasn't completely convinced on the viability of natural gas fracking. I'm glad I followed my gut and stayed in Houston. I received a promotion a year ago and am doing well. Our group was affected late last year, but I came out alright.

Yes, very busy and yes, drilling like crazy. Different environment as CNAEP is used as a lever for investment swings. Im thinking about moving up there to AMBU, but clearly Im thinking twice.
