The layoffs definitely happened. I work in the corporate office. I can't verify the number because Ron won't even acknowledge it to us. He sent out a company-wide email, but it only talked about Demos, no one else. The layoffs were not even mentioned. It's very sleazy, this whole thing.
They layoffs 100% happened. Over 500 people yesterday alone were given a pink slip.
If 150 were laid off out of 500 just in Framingham alone, they would have had to file a mass layoff notice with The State. Than again, like you said, they're so sleazy, they probably figured out a way to by pass it
I find this "Company spokesman Kirk Saville declined to confirm or deny the layoffs, instead referring Fortune to a press release announcing various leadership changes " very interesting. They won't even admit to the layoffs? The company has become so sleazy and disreputable.
Can you verify the number of layoffs?
Trust me it happen and will go further in May after FTC tells Staples NO.
I'd like to verify this.
