We lost 62 people under our director Bill Kinter yesterday. This includes ACT and engineers and possibly other groups. Verizon can spend millions on an effing new logo that isn't needed, but they can't spend millions keeping people employed??? Verizon has their priorities all screwed up. Anyone have an idea how many people have been laid off at Verizon over the past two weeks?

The big question is how many people are the going to be allowed to hurt... and how much will the American people allow them to get away with.
Will the younger generation of Americans get employed by this giant of a company, or will they be allowed to outsource their work to other countries.
Q, maybe you should go find a new job somewhere else. Instead of criticizing people on the layoff board, perhaps you should think about the short-sightedness of this company. RIFing employees for short term gain, adding back in "activation fees" (http://money.cnn.com/2015/11/13/technology/verizon-activation-fee/), and it wouldn't shock me to see the bean counters start adding data caps like Comcast. Verizon is going down the shitter because all they care about is "Shareholder Value" and what the average, dumb-ass investor makes each quarter. It's not a way to run a company.
You need to stop and look at the big picture. For this company to remain a viable, profitable company over the next ten years changes needed to be made. In case you haven't noticed, we are no longer much of a growth company when it comes to cell a phones and the landline business has been dying for several years now. The 4 area Wireless model was inefficient and had too much over lap. If you are not happy here go find a new job somewhere else.
Screw Verizon, I worked for that cut throat, back stabbing company for 13 yrs, they harassed the hell out of me my last couple of years. They can drop off the face of the earth for all I care.
