Thank you #760...I'll check eweb again. I don't always find it the most user friendly at finding these specifics but will dig around in there today a bit.

Wireline and union it goes like this:

20 years service plus 55 years age qualifies you for service pension

25 years service plus 50 years age also qualifies for service pension

24 yrs service plus 54 years doesn't qualify (sucks because you can see younger people w/ more service and older people w/ less service qualifying before you do).

This should all be spelled out in your SPD, which is accessible on the eweb.

What about wireline + union?

Some people say we just need 20 years, some say 25. Then some say an age.

How could there be this many interpretations for what should be a cut and dry question?

In wireless it's 75 points, and you get 25% off your service and the ability to buy health insurance for about $1100 per month. In other words, nothing.

Sounds like we're all in agreement here.

There are no retirees benefits for wireless. And you need 75 points.

If you are in wireline mgmt you need service plus age of 70 with a minimum service of 15.

If you are within 2 years of 60 points then they have given it to others in the past in management or not union. 60 points is what you need and yes you can fully retire at any age.
