If you are hanging out waiting for them to announce store closures, layoffs and severance packages or buyouts, don't. They will either: 1. offer you a shitty, job at a Staples store at a pay cut and twice the stress level 2. Harass you until you quit 3. Find / make up enough dirt to fire you. As bad as you think it is now, a Staples take over is pure evil.

It does not matter if the buyout goes through or not. If you're in the retail division of Staples or Depot, GTFO!!!!!. Office supply retail is doomed. If it goes through, you may make it a year or two until they decide to close your store (unless yours is near an existing Staples). But it will be very stressfull, no payroll and few benefits. If it does not go through, OD will likely be out of business (at least retail, BtoB and .com may survive) in 3 years, aggressively closing unprofitable stores while it dies.
