Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Some people just love to worry and spread rumors

Anyone in a position to KNOW if more layoffs are going to occur would not be posting to this site. Stop worrying about the things you cannot control and focus on what you CAN control. Stop poisoning yourself by listening to the toxic rumors of people who post here.

After you've caught up on rumors here, do something productive:

Update your Linked in profile and work on your branding statement (or look up what a branding statement is)

Research the new things going on in the area (Magic Leap, what are the health care companies up to)

Send some linked in emails to former colleagues, asking not for a job but for advise on what might be out there.

Join the right management florida Caribbean group, Add some recruiters to your linked in network.

Do you want to stay in south florida?

I held on at Citrix for the 6 weeks of vacation I was getting, and the thought that I could not make same salary elsewhere in the area..

I got a job in May with a lot less vacation, and about the same pay, but I love what I am doing, and am out the door at 7am eager to fix what I didn't get done the day before.

I would love to see the used car salesman BB and the rest of the acquisitions team get fired for all the 3-4th tier companies they bought, but the damage is done and the ship is breaking apart. Things change, and ask yourself, if you survive the layoff, are you happy working at Citrix anymore? Don't stay out of nostalgia.

@ Anonymous198834 - Citrix never removes frozen requisitions from their publicly available job listings so as to not make the impression of a hiring freeze or tough times.

Here is my (uneducated) take : As per earlier announcements, the "GoTo*" and bytemobile teams are going to get spunoff anyway. Not sure how many, but I would guess that would be more than 1000 folks, right ? So after a good Q3 AND more than 1000 employees (about 10%) leaving as result of the spinoff, why would Citrix still layoff (except for may be some minor adjustments) ? Apart from that, I still see open reqs in the system. In my 20+ years in industry, I have usually seen reqs frozen before any layoff happens. So the 20% layoff numbers we are hearing can't be true, IMO.

Probably for the same reason you are. Because some worry-filled person told me about it. DUH...
