I've been at Verizon for 21 years and I do remember a time when employees actually enjoyed coming to work. My position requires me to interact with employees from varies areas and I must say that have never seen the moral as bad as it is now and seems like it's just getting worse each year, regardless of which division or office you're in.

I was also in a position it interact with employees across the company. Majority have not been happy for years. I use to enjoy coming to work and was proud of the job I did. It all started to go downhill when Denny left. Now upper management is making you one big unhappy family. I was RIF'd, too many years in the company and too old to be Pajama Boy. But it all worked out to be an early retirement and the yearly stress of wondering if this was the year I would rif'd is over.
I agree w original post. The last time I felt good about the company, it was called Bell Atlantic.

All in 8, no thinking, just going through the motions and collecting a check.
What I stated has nothing to do with what I'm reading here. It's about what is and has been actually happening with working employees. Of course employees hesitate to voice their true opinion at work, simply because they WILL get retaliated against, I have personally witnessed that.
You also have an access to this site which you never had before. Here, hidden behind anonymous handles, folks speak their mind - you now have an insight into the dark side of the employee's mind. Keep in mind that folks who feel positive about VZ do not post here, so take all that you read on layoffs.com as something that paints only one part of the picture
