Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I hate to break the news, but RIF's have been going on for years on the wireline side of the business. Not fun at all, but a common theme. There is NOTHING you can do. It is legal. The fat has been trimmed on that side, so it only makes sense it made it to wireless from a Verizon perspective. They need to save cash. The borrowed about 60 Billion from banks, not to mention the 59 billion of cash the already paid for Vodaphone. The Vodaphone deal was good for Verizon, but not for employees. They borrowed the money and payments are due. On top of that, Verizon WILL pay their dividends to stockholders. All of this equals cutting the easiet expense. Headcount.
