After working like dogs to enable the split, we are now getting laid off. Thank you for working constantly and giving up your family life and any hobbies. Now, don't let the door hit you on the way out. I was warned before I went there that they always had layoffs. I should have listened. Just waiting for my notice.
I don't think the HP/HPE separation matters to employees. Cuts were going to come no matter what. Meg has made her decision to farm as much work off shore as she can.
The only way the HP/HPE split has been good is if you are shorting their stock. Then you are making a killing.
Depends on the position. Tech Consultant IV's not so much. Almost a manager too much of a lead. Most jobs internal and external will think twice due to the mature experience.
As an ex EDS then HP employee (14 years in total), I never understood the HP - EDS deal other than HP wanting the business but not the people. 75% of my EDS colleagues did not survive the layoffs under HP and splitting HP Inc and HPE, the writing is on the wall. HPE will get sold which unfortunately will be like groundhog day with further layoffs. F***youMarkHead.com was a result of disgruntled employees at the time.
I think split is good for both companies. Due to the competition is keen in business, I heard some HP enterprise teams such as 3PAR storage, switch and wireless etc. have been gradually migrating jobs to india for cost reduction.
If I were you I would start looking for job! Don't even wait or guess!!
Everyone I know who has been laid off has done MUCH better including myself! Beware, Severance for HPE is laughable!
