We were laid off June 26th 2015. Union did nothing and is still doing nothing for us. Verizon management does whatever they want and CWA leadership is weak. No job actions, no strike, no protection. We have teachers here in Pittsburgh on strike right now. Glad some unions still have balls! Can't wait to see the contract CWA signS and tries to sell it to the members as "fair". The last one was sold to us by saying "we will be better off financially at the end of the contract". Completely false. It's time for the membership to vote for a new union!

Don't worry to those who are the 22. Your "brothers" will pick up the slack. They will volunteer for as much overtime as they can handle. There will be no job action. And they will help the company move on and forget your actually needed. They might even make a bracelet to honor you. The only contract we should have ever voted yes for was the one that had "no layoff" language. Fyi, there are currently 4 different contracts covering the members in PA. Company divided us over these last 4 contracts, and now they are conquering. Don't just blame Lowell. Partial blame goes to the representation we've PAID for. Cwa is a business that we paid for services from, just like you would pay for a lawyer.
22 more cirts on chopping block in Pittsburgh Pa. Stay Tuned. Thanks Lowell!
Yes, wireline side. There is no union on the wireless side in Pittsburgh. Although, there are about 20 wireless employees in New York who managed to unionize.
@941, Were you on the Wireline side? If so, when were you hired?
Can we all assume what we had read in the nedia was true- that union is much weaker and they can never strike and VZ leaders will get the contract to the mgmt favour?
MOBILIZE. MOBILIZE. MOBILIZE
Can't wait to see the contract CWA offers
