ye, you didn't get the memo ? BP is being bought by Chevron, well, they call it a merger. It will be one of the biggest O&G mergers ever. Money is being made in the downturn. A lot of synergies (meaning potential to cut cost through layoffs). Leverage infrastructure in GOM deepwater and land.
