When you say regions /area, I assume you are referring to wireless and not wireline. Right?
Compared to what is going to happen, past layoffs are minor.
For the first time wireless will be hit very hard. The Midwest and south will take the hardest hits. It will be a very sad day.
I sit in a wireless region and believe we will be severely impacted.
Are any wireless call centers on the chopping block? They're non-union after all.
I've heard finance, marketing and sales ops groups are going to be the hardest hit.
Re-org as in combining wireline and wireless? Or what?
Yes I heard 11 Regions, 2 Areas. I heard 2 dates, not sure which one is right: 10/28 and 11/5. I heard 20% headcount reduction across the board including Frontier transfers. I also heard a complete re org of all functional groups. I have heard this from multiple sources but at this point there are so many rumors, I don't know what to believe. But all the rumors indicate something very drastic.
Some regions will be consolidated, and there are RPs that are being RIFed, and communications will be completed soom. Some have already started last Friday.

2 areas and 11 regions.. All communications will be done by nov 5th.
