What would you say? (to someone that got affected with Right Sizing)

Folks, we are almost there. In about 72 hours people will know, who is out and who will survive. Like it or not, some of those reading this will be affected or some of our known ones will be affected. Please answer two questions:

What would you tell affected people for first time you hear about their rightsizing?
What would you suggest them to do to move on? (like resources or inspiration etc).

I think some people would like to come and read this after they know they are affected. So, please respect the sentiments of people that read this and please provide most respectful and useful advice you ever can give in such situations.

Q has still a very good reputation when doing job hunting if you have been laid off; if you have been working for few years at Q, it is a good job reference; the main challenge during the interview is to actually to meet technical skills required by the company you interview for. Just my 2 cents. Also being able to relocate is a big plus.

That they are losers and low performers and they deserve it! They made enough money while working for Q. Now, make less money elsewhere! And oh, have fun explaining to your next employers why you were laid off at every interview!! The table has turned. Let you, arrogant suckers, taste what it's like to be unemployed and go beg for jobs. You arrogant jerks!

Having been through layoffs before, I find it best just to listen. They may just need to vent a bit over a few drinks. It's impossible to give boiler plate advice because each person's situation is different.

Tell the press about Qsweatshop, h-1bs etc...

HOLY CRAP! You guys actually have the huevos to stage a walk-out?! Everyone thought you engineers were a bunch of weenies for just sitting there and taking it! Especially after SM and PJ and a few others "gifted" themselves with a cool $110 mil payout in (future) stock! But it's actually more than that, because now that the price is depressed, they will get even more shares!

We live in exciting times and this event is a great opportunity for growth and expansion of our consciousness. All growth and expansion lessons, especially if resisted, can be uncomfortable or even downright painful. This life is not about our job at Q or this specific event, it's about the journey... If possible, move to heart centredness (away from intellect), it will never fail to guide you to best outcome. Namaste.

Honestly, for many it's probably a blessing. I think most of us think that the future is not likely to get better at QC.

The ones who get the axe are the lucky ones. They get PAID to GTFO. The rest of us need to GTFO as well but we'll get paid jack sh** to do it.

It all depends upon who it is that gets it.

I will tell them I am sorry to hear that. I will offer them any help they may need (that I can do).

For resources, I will suggest them to look at all their contacts and get in touch with them. Someone may be in a position to point in a direction
