@Anonymous149013, oh please! MS degrees nowadays are the norms. If you have time, enroll in a local state school's MS program and complete the required courses. If you have more money, there's USC (most foreign students went this route) with online programs. The quality of USC is sh*t! If you have even more time, stick around longer for a PhD, it's not that special. Don't think intelligence is translated by having a PhD. Kiddo stuff.

@ 149011: Personally, I would eliminate the H1 category of visas for tech jobs, unless the industry can show compelling need--i.e., something other than economic need. If a company wants to hire a foreign worker, they will have to either pay for GC/citizenship--a much more costly legal process, or the worker will have to qualify and bear the cost (about $5,000 per month, if it requires numerous appeals.) A lot of the people coming in as H1 hires these days shouldn't qualify for GC due to language issues, IMO.

Americans should take pay cuts and get h1b jobs. Also work very hard get ms or phd degrees. A degree from devry or university of Unix does not count
