Project Alpha ROM 1 Round 2 Question

We are going to get to apply to 4 positions. Of the positions available is there a limit on the number of employees that can apply? For example, if there is some generic job in GOMBU for a reservoir engineer can an unlimited number of employees apply to it? Or can they only take dozen, or some predetermined number, of applicants. The limit of four jobs per person is intended to keep everyone from applying to every job and there being hundreds of applicants. As it is, there will be zillions of applicants for many jobs. The efficient ROM process will allow them to be rapidly whittled down to the most qualified 3-5 as that is the maximum which can be effectively discussed and compared by a small selection committee. Short-listers will be the right PSG, fully qualified in all respects, with strong PMP performance the last 3 years, and the potential to make material contributions to making Chevron a stronger company. For existing jobs, the incumbent, if she has 1/2+ performance, will be a strong candidate and the job owner will have final say. If you have 1/2+ performance but your current job is gone, you may be able to steal a chair from a benchmark performer if you are fully qualified (on paper, not just in your mind!) to do the job and have more potential to add further value than the incumbent. All these aspects will be discussed in detail by the selection committee, the pros and cons weighed, so they must have your facts and details. If you have made enemies on the selection committee, it could get rough, but you may survive if your job performance is high.

You should only apply for the four jobs which are most perfectly suited to your proven skills at your current PSG. Your supervisor or PDC rep can advise you on this if required. If it were me, I would be having a phone chat with the job owner (or whoever owns the job on the published org charts), reviewing my GO400 with them and inquiring as to whether the open position was one I should use one of my four bullets on.

Had 26 internal applicants apply for open 1 position here at CDB China. Many of them were 2 or 3 PG higher than the job posting.

There is no limit. And in fact that is an interesting point on a strategy for applying.
