You realize pivot is a popular term in business for this sort of thing, right? We are laying off 5k people and starting to pull out of mobile (it's commoditized)
SM is just towing the line and lining his pockets. Both him and PJ should go. For crying out loud, he is the CEO and he has to hire a consulting firm to tell him what to do? What the hell do they pay him for? I guess it is convenient when the consultants make hard choices. SM can just blame on the consultants and say it was their idea. Total chicken sh*t
That UT article had nothing of value in it. SM didn't say a thing. He did, however, throw out the old "shareholder value" line. Guess what, pal? The best way to deliver shareholder value to execute against a well thought out, long term business strategy, not capitulate to "activist investors" looking to make a quick buck.
