Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

My mom Ms. C!

Today i lost my best friend and mom. As a current supervisor at the coffee and juice bar in addison, ms c is my everything. Ms c's last day was today and all i can say is that i am broken. Nothing will ever be the same. I know that i wont be able to hold in my tears when i have to explain to the guests what happened. Everyone loved her more than anything. As of today i will never be the same.

Miss C would be the first one to tell you "it's just a job, baby". I hope she's well, she is the strongest person I know and I'll miss seeing her.

Everyone will miss seeing and talking with Miss C, but she's been saving up to retire for years. This couldn't have come at a better time for her -- she'll get the eight weeks pay, the severance and cash out all her saved up vacation hours. She's gonna get a big check to drop in the bank account and it's way more than what she would have ever gotten if she just retired any other time. I'll miss seeing her at Addison, but I'm happy she got to walk out with extra money. As for everyone else who got the papers, my heart aches for them. I completely hate this decision except for the older team members who wanted to retire anyway. For just about everyone else, it's awful.

Hi! I love the ADN juice bar. Not sure if she still works for WFM but there used to be a really cute redhead girl who worked at that juice bar.

We all lost some talented and hardworking team mates. The store team leaders got to decide who needed to go. Honestly they are better off than the ones like us who got to stay and be the face of a company that's now gone to shit. Values don't matter.

Mandel is a great man, I have worked for him personally, he is one of the best associate store team leaders. He is hard but fair and honestly has been passed over way too many times for promotion from the powers that be. He is not the reason Ms C was let go..direct your anger at the corporate machine that sold their soul to the devil this past week.

Agreed! That Addison store is the worst yet, it caused us to start shopping at Central Market instead. Please tell Carolyn the internet is clamoring for her.

I'm truly sorry for your and her loss. However...the Addison store is the most dirty WF in which I have ever stepped foot. I have shopped in WF all over the US and my husband couldn't even stand to use the rest room in the Addison store due to the stink and the filth. What is the real problem in this store.....Dear heavens...clean it up.

To Guests (former guests) of WF Addison, contact the store team leader, he had the ultimate decision of who to let go. You ultimately also have the choice of where to spend your grocery dollars.

Ms. C is everyone's Mom. Store and team leadership should be ashamed. It is not business for the team and guests that loved her, it's personal.

What is the best way for customers to express their anger about this? Is there anyone to hold responsible for making this choice?

As a customer, I'm so disappointed in WF the corporation. I really wish someone in the press would do a story about Miss C. She is a Dallas institution! We should have a party for her at the very least. I can't believe you have to be the one to tell customers. I'm truly sorry.

Yes she used to work at the richardson store. The whole lay-off situation has me torn up. We lost some amazing people that make a difference in the company. Im kind of lost in it all. I already know some guests that won't shop at whole foods again because of this.

I worked for WFM for almost 7 yrs and it was a Great......then! My husband currently works for the company.Over the years we've been in awe- of how much the company has grown and changed! This whole 'lay off' is beyond ridiculous!!!!For so many reasons......

-Is there a hiring freeze?

Give or leave some kind of job security!

-Are they still opening 365 stores? Why expand and create more jobs....... To have another lay off?

-Are regional position being affected by this lay off? Lay offs should start with the big-wigs...... Who we hardley see in stores, who don't ever work in stores.
