Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

I have been on the FTC site and even after doing a search can't find any information on how to send the FTC information about UOPX

I have hundreds of emails from manager warning me and others that we don't have enough new referrals (leads) and that we haven't REG'd enough (enrolled) students this month so forth and so on... is this something the FTC should see? This seems like old news to me but not sure if FTC could use it? Also, isn't our scatter plot which is used to reward us with those ridiculous silver, gold and platinum flags all based on numbers? If you look at the x,y dimensions of our scatter plot its basically based on how many people you enrolled, how many new leads your made and how many new leads you enrolled. Isn't that just like the olden days?

You all wish this place will cease from existence. The reality is that it won't. Might still downsize a bit more but it won't shut down. It will continue to serve a good size population of students whether you like it or not.

The real death of all of these for profits will be finally holding them accountable for their shit results. They siphon billions away from other schools and investments and give absolutely rotten results because of it. Millions of people have lived in financial ruin for the last 2 decades because of the corrupt back door deals and phony marketing these kind of fraudulent operations employ. The taxpayers are tired of pouring limitless piles of money for 7% graduation rates and outcomes that pay less than not going to school at all.

That is just like the old days; although, they want to refer to it as something different so the USDept of Ed and FTC won't recognize EXACTLY what is going on - Pay for Play!!! We all know now that the "trends" to register a certain number of students was just a cover. We are still required to register a certain amount, and if we don't we are written up and made to feel like we are not doing our jobs. I think the FTC needs to hear from us who are still here because I am sick of all the lies! Just call them and they will direct you to appropriate parties: Federal Trade Commission

@Anonymous137709, why should students organize and rise up? From what ethical staff have told me, UoPX has become a cesspool of corruption. You know it's not good when you look at the consumer websites and see this many complaints.................................................................................................................. http://www.consumeraffairs.com/education/phoenix.html

Ck - why would there be a need to rise up and organize? Many students are happy with their experience and education. Those who are here for the right reasons will and should benefit from their hard work. People like you are the ones who should be put to shame for trying to discredit people's hard work.

Why does nobody see the department of education, president, ftc and everyone else are in on this scam. They've inflated this bubble more than every other kind of debt out there besides mortgages, the entire crooked operation couldn't have made it this big without their complicit help. To fix the student loan disaster in the United States we have to eliminate these crooked gatekeepers or they will just keep the same old ponzi scheme going.

@Anonymous137413, this place has been exposed for a few years now--actually about a DECADE. Besides the Harkin Commission, Suzanne Mettler (who detailed the relationship between Nancy Pelosi and John Sperling), David Halperin, Aaron Glantz have done a great deal in explaining the political connections and corruption. And several Apollo Group/University of Phoenix whistleblowers have stepped forward--Aldrich and Nolan being the most recent. Even two major executives called them out, including John D. Murphy, a UoPX cofounder and author of Mission Forsaken. It's now up to the students to rise up and ORGANIZE. I have made several worker connections at UoPX and Apollo Group, but students and their families have been very quiet. It doesn't make sense from my end.................................................................https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/apollo-group-sinking-ship-dahn-shaulis?trk=mp-author-card

@How do you contact FTC?, if you email me, I may have a lawyer in NYC who may be interested (no guarantee). Are you still employed for University of Phoenix? Filing a claim with the FTC is not easy because it's not a "consumer complaint." Furthermore, I'm not sure how aggressive the FTC will be on a matter like this. If you decide to go the FTC route, your best bet may be to try the chat first.........................https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/Information?OrgCode=#crnt....................Dick Durbin has been the political point of contact after Senator Harkin retired. I'm working with a former key staffer with Harkin, on a "lead generator" case with the FTC, and they have not proven to be helpful (so far). You may want to send your information to Kirk Hoskins, a lawyer who is working with two other former UoPX workers. His number is 502-821-9001 and email is hoskins@kirk.win.net . If you aren't familiar with this case, you should look it over...................................http://www.leagle.com/decision/In%20FDCO%2020130308A88/U.S.%20ex%20rel.%20Hoggett%20v.%20University%20of%20Phoenix
