Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

There is a massive change in culture underway

At one time AT&T was a company that had a concern for its employees. Now there is no concern for employees who have dedicated themselves to AT&T for years. We have all seen the "You Matter" notices which are supposed to make us feel valued. Today, that message needs to read "You Don't Matter". That's based on the lack of transparency that exudes throughout the corporation on matters such as layoffs and job title changes. I'm particularly dismayed at the way HR went forward with what I view as underhanded actions. It's a sad day for us all not to mention our customers.

Actually Cingular bought AT&T wireless and kept the Cingular name. That combined company was a joint venture of SBC and Bell South and operated as such for a few years. But when SBC (now called AT&T because of that acquisition) bought BellSouth Cingular was just absorbed into AT&T with the rest of the companies SBC has acquired.

It was SBC that bought AT&T, adopting the name, for brand image. They changed the logo to lower case letters, at&t. Cingular was bought by att wireless.

No. They aren't even close. I am from Cingular and we do nothing like we did back then. Things were much better under Cingular.

AT&T was the company when I started there over fifteen years ago. Remember Cingular Wireless....... took over, did change the name back to AT&T to fool the customers, however, all the policies and procedures are those of Cingular!
