To Gypsy Soul are you kidding me!! Most of those over 40 have been through some of the downturn in the industry and by the way you leaned on and felt they were obligated to show you how to do your job. This is a roller coaster industry. Beware Karma is a bitch!!

Might even be yours. Just because you are on the younger side doesn't mean your invincible. Noble already laid off quite a few younger employees. Wrong place or wrong time and you may be next. Something else to consider, the A&G budget is mainly cosmetic, window dressing for the stock analysts. The real costs are the wells, infrastructure, corp acquisitions and debt. If you want to see Noble save some big bucks they need to get back to basics and stop chasing crappy projects or building trophy office complexes that are expensive to maintain and they can't possibly fill.
"Young an hard working and won't be cut..." Since your job is safe, do you plan to help all those folks laid off find their next gig? Oh wait, that's how the game used to be played...this industry is in trouble when the old folks leave

the best thing that could happen is that more layoffs happen, some people got to go and I am young and hard working an will not be cut. it is just part of the oil and gas biz. more layoffs will make the company healthier nobody over 40 contributes his weight in paycheck, most are dead weight
