I think the real true death happened when they started moving all of the casual smarmy slime from the west coast into FP. That is the true beginning of the downfall of FP. Allowing those fruitcakes to push their way of business on something established and working. Look where's it's gotten us now. Low morale, crap toys, constant layoffs. whoopdeedoo!

The thing that is happening now and has been ongoing, is the slow death of a once great toy company. The death spiral began when mattel bought Fisher Price.

Bwahahahahaha! That person you mentioned is now an SVP of marketing at Madame Alexander. Isn't it amazing how people fail upwards?

Not that Madame Alexander is worth a heaping pile of crap. Only ever saw it placed at FAO.

Because the useless ones know how to curry favor with the even more useless folk in upper management (they stick together). We had a marketing person in NYC who was absolutely horrible and for the most part a nasty POS. She was soooooooo good at managing up that she was spared the ax for so long it was nauseating. No one liked working with her. She was nasty, incompetent, and the first person to point the finger to deflect blame. Fortunately she resigned recently, months after her equally useless BF was booted from another division. No great loss on either front and though our office is at an all time low morale-wise, it's that much better without her and her "better than you" mentality. The lesson here is don't do your job, just socialize and kiss ass with your higher ups and you'll avoid the ax come layoff time.

The people they let go this week were hard working, dedicated employees, not our usual clueless marketing people. Why do they keep getting rid of good employees and keep so many useless VP's around. They are driving FP into the ground, but maybe that's what Mattel intends to do.

The people they laid off were really good this time and better than some that remained in the company -just not part of the club.

THERE IS A GOD! Someone in marketing was shown the door! Now if only this benevolent diety would be so kind as to make his way over to the NYC office?

A few layoffs today in EA. Sounds like 4 or 5 people, two in marketing and a few support people. Some re-org changes will follow shortly.

Let me guess, the higher ups have their feet up on one another's desk and are doing what they do best? NOTHING.
