Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

How are the newly laid-off doing today?

I know yesterday was a day of shock, anger, and fear for many of us who were laid off. How are you doing this morning? Any better? Worse? I'm still angry, even though I knew it was coming. I'm looking forward to the Tuesday Q 1:00 Mountain; 3:00 Eastern)

Keep doing the useless training, when you are not longer needed, bye bye, instead put emphasis in other type of industry certifications, which are highly value everywhere

The Udacity certification was no help at all. I did mine and got cut anyway.

I'm in GFS and found a security guard at my MTSO location this morning due to possible protests. My manager and area manger have no insight. Other MTSOs in the area had no security guards. I'm very concerned, I'm union and was under the impression we had a little bit of protection.

I'm in the ATO org too. And get this. My group was left Friday with a lot of ambiguity. We were told that the official announcement had to be made on Monday for the cuts. Its just so inconsistent across the board. Why send people into the weekend NOT KNOWING. Morale is in the crapper. I think the biggest lesson though is to develop multiple streams of income. I have a small business that does pretty well esp in 4Q and getting a few other things started as well. Training obviously is important too. The udacity and agile/pm certs I think are important as well.

I'm angry. They hit our department by more than 30%, we lost a lot of good people who work hard and are great 2nd level managers. Lots of 1Bs who are non productive bumps on logs who add no value to the company or department were safe. It hurts to see good people gone and ones that should never of been here still in their positions. My coworkers/friends who are affected are feeling happy this weekend. Happy to be done with this BS. I think it's a wide range of emotions for everyone.
