Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

What's the data center project, they mentioned it four times

What is this project and how do I get moved to it? SM mentioned it multiple times so it must be an important project to the companies future.

RTP, you mean Raleigh? Didn't they create the Scorpion and Krait cores that put QC in lead with the first 1Ghz mobile core?

Intel will be tough competition with deep pockets, but QC has deep pockets too. Intel has a huge % of the server market, sounds like a good place to target, lots of possible $$$ even if a few % are pulled from Intel.

The problem is it's a crowded space with low margins, falling profits and competition that can undercut and survive a protracted price war.

You'd have better profit making corn chips.

With the popularity of cloud companies - amazon, google, microsoft relying heavily on data center efficiencies such as real estate, power etc., qualcomm is better poised to take a big market share if it gets into collaboration with server providers like HP, Dell etc.

This is the first positive news coming out of qualcomm in months.
