Who really cares if anyone of those bozos from Staples is monitoring this web site for current or former employees to post comments on. Life goes on without Staples just make sure to tell all your friends to shop elsewhere. Never support a company that does not care about its employees.

I find the daily company emails loaded with ham-headed corporate propaganda slogans to be more humorous than anything else now. Sure, we were all advised as employees not to make any public comments about the company in any form, and failure to comply could result in termination or loss of various benefits/exit packages. But the company atmosphere of combining long periods of silence with doling out what little information it does to employees in minute portions layered with ambiguous legalese jargon has helped create and feed the rumor mill. So if anybody in a position of corporate authority is actually bothering to still monitor posts on this site, rather than try to determine who is posting what, concentrate on what is actually being said here by those of us who work on the ground floor and actually do the heavy lifting that generates the revenue stream. What is actually being said should...SHOULD...be a wakeup call as to what is actually happening on the associate level. Think of it in terms of a microcosm as to how the people working for the company really feel. And then, either be prepared to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT or just say "f*** 'em" and go back to treating workers as just another metric. The second option is the path of least resistance. The first option, making the corporation into a company where statements like "we will make a culture where people are valued" and "walk the walk, talk the talk" are little more than hollow slogans, takes hard work. God bless, all!

If not laid off, outsourced to India and it's been deemed not worthy of tier two support.

Don't worry, they can't track this site because the guy they pay to track it got laid off.

heheh I had forgotten about 30 by 10; that's when they were arrogant a-holes and felling like they were in the in-crowd with all the political elites*. Foolish vain fools f'd up the company because they were to busy feeling cool. Well they have a legacy and it's not good.... The BOOK TITLE... most will get this humor "From Good to Footnote"

(Staples, how a fairly good company screwed up completely).

  • look how quickly Obama turned on them when they admitted Obamacare SUCKS!!! hehehehe love it :-)

Staples is heading the way of every consumer electronics store has gone before them. (Circuit City, Comp USA, Computer City) There is no money to be made in that industry,.The office supplies and furniture demands have gone as well. It will be goodbye to many stores and hello to more internet presence. Only Best Buy is able to stay afloat, but they are struggling as well.

It's suddenly silent simply because there is a news pause before the merger. Don't worry they are still going to close tons of stores it's just that they don't want to commit to which ones until they have all the options in each market clearly identified. That means they have to know the merger is a done deal first. I'm thinking merger will be pretty much complete by November. Just my guess... The final company will still end up with less than 750 stores....

It would be hard to point who is posting. Even though this site is operated in the US a search warrant would be needed to obtain ip information which would still cause lack of proof. If there were criminal violations on here a search warrant might be obtainable with diffuctly. Random posts would not be a valid reason to grant a warrent.

There is no doubt that upper management is watching these posts and trying to figure out who it is..... John Kessler is the head monitor for Supply Chain.... checks it several times a day.... so say hi John.... I guess he has nothing better to do.

It's quiet now because they have already carved the delivery side of the business to shreds..... the stores don't have many people left in them either.... pretty sad for a once great company.

How many people remember 30 by 10??

Knowing Ronnie boy, he had his henchmen managers issue a warning to the masses not to post anything.

By now everyone has realized it's best to leave. Or perhaps Staples is monitoring this site and looking for who is commenting . I am so glad I left years ago and never looked back . My job was good until the crooked managers took over. Ones who had no business in retail and should be in jail. The last year of my life at Staples was pure hell with all the managers swearing, screaming and intimidation to bring up sales. When your manager comes to work drunk and her assistant is a screaming maniac there is only one place to go......out. The sales were in the toilet because there was no customer service. There was no staff or the people that were hired were not adequately trained and quit very soon after. I wish the economy was better so I could have left sooner. This was the quintessential toxic workplace.
