Initial impression is positive. Was growing tired of Neebo antics. Is Follett okay or are they just another book company blowing smoke up our asses?

Sure, there are going to be some bad stores in the group, but having a decent marketing plan for some of these stores may do wonders. It was non-existent at NBC. Say what you want about them, but one thing these stores are is battled tested. Go into a Follett store and take away half their payroll, their entire marketing budget, run everything off a computer system from the 80's, and feed them a shit sandwich for 2 years and see if they survive? Most of these Neebo stores will.
I left NBC before it became "Neebo" for Follett, and it has been way, way better here. More stability, less frantic freaking out. They also pay better, hard as that might be to believe. I left a job with too much responsibility for the pay for the same level position with way better pay and fewer expectations.
It's not all bad, but Follett has been making some terrible, short sighted decisions lately.
You'll find Follett is a wonderful company but stumbled when over a 3 year period they lost to retirement key sales staff, sales leadership, a few operations leaders and our President, Tom. That proved to be a bigger set back than the owners thought.welcome.

It's entertaining reading posts I know come from a few of the Kool-aid drinking RM's, GVP,s and up.
For the others looking for an escape form this hell hole. You can do it!

I am a Follett critic, but they are light years ahead of NBC. Follett is much more professional and stable. Of course, they are struggling like a lot of the industry is, but they have a proud history and far better off than Neebo.
That being said, these stores are not going to help Follett. It's the trash heap.
I used to be able to say it'll all be fine. Nope. No more. They're blowing smoke up you ass. Enjoy the honeymoon. This company has no direction, no leadership, no vision, no idea of what it will look like this time next year. NEEBO was a disaster, to be sure. If you were already looking, keep on keepin' on. There is no future here.
