I for one liked MLS and her contributions. She was a strong female leader who continually had to fight the good old boys club. This is just another example of the glass ceiling facing women at Follett. Unite women. We now have returned to the old times "61 year old white male".

"I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." - Martin Luther King, Jr.. I wish folks would finally start living this, it takes everyone though.
Chris, Chuck, and Mark L for sure. All gentlemen. Alison, not so much. She introduced MLS and stood smiling when MLS told us her ONLY job was increase the value of the family owned stock. Always thought that MLS was her creature.
Yesssss! 🙌🏾 Your post just gave me life. Not that any of us were perfect, but, those of us who knew our jobs were ridded of by MLS imitators only to find the business suffered later.
I had high hope when she first came to Follett. I soon learned what an unfriendly stick up the ars person she was.
When actual Follett's were in charge the moral was great. They would actually engage in conversation with their employees.
MLS, DG, MS and SS rarely talk to people that they consider below them. Would it kill any of them to say Hello?
I miss Alison, Chris and Chuck they knew how to treat their employees.
"I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." - Martin Luther King, Jr.. So can't we do the same for RG? Can't we wait and judge him by what he does and not by your perception that he's a old white guy? I judge MLS by what she did to the company and to the dedicated associates not that her sex. She threw away decades of institutional knowledge to bring in a bunch of clowns that thought they just needed to crack the whip harder. All who fell into line with her sadistic regime have cause to worry. The day has come when YOU OWN IT! When you claimed your decisions were based on savings, be ready to prove it up. Don't assume because RG was on the BOD, that he went along with MLS's reign of terrible decisions.
99449, be careful what you beg for...
Please, "smack that ass" with a lawsuit.
Unlike many who worked hard for the company for a long time, she likely received a very lucrative severance.
She left just before I got a chance to smack that ass with a lawsuit.
Under her watch employees were abused. Female employees were abused. Older, long tenured, female employees were abused. She either knew and approved or knew and didn't care. It is not OK to flush careers without thought or consequence. It is OK to change direction. However the employees who have worked hard for the company for years aren't at fault for the decisions management made years ago and they shouldn't have been punished. The board screwed up hiring her. She was not the right person for the job and it took the idiots on the board nearly 3 years to figure that out. A team of Neros fiddling while their Rome burned.
The family's goal is to maximize share price and decisions are made with that end goal in mind.
As Alison said at the first town hall, it was a breath of fresh air to have a woman CEO.
There are tough decisions that must be made when a company is on the decline and going to go out of business. Noone likes to make them. I remind you the Greg T, Don G, Sanjeev S picked who would be laid off. MLS set targets but she hardly picked the individuals. More office f***ery.
She was a sadistic bitch with no redeeming graces. A strong female leader who continually had to fight the good old boys club!* Like taking a employee with 30+ years of dedicated service and moving him to the ADC from RG and laying him off a week later. She liked slapping the little people in the face. Like the lady from RG2 who had fought cancer twice, so sorry, we can’t use you any more. The family will never live down the things they let her do.
Give me a break! She did nothing but get rid of all the people that knew this business. Her gender has nothing to do with it..nice try
