I worked for Arafat for a short time and in as much as I wished to build a career with the company, it never came to pass. I am in a different industry and I admit, I am more fulfilled than ever. Anyway, if Weatherford was/is so horrible, why hang around? I know, it is a living but, psychologically, the mental abuse must have been aggravating! Of course, the sudden plunge in the market value of oil, I do realize, must have exacerbated matters.

Very depressing. General manager attacks, insults, belittles, etc. everyday....a mental beating everyday. Treats everyone like theyre idiots. Stay clear, only work here if you have no other option. Ive always thought that wft should hire a 3rd party to assess the "health" of their facilities, a true confidential gathering of information of how people are treated and perceive wft.
@Anonymous96461. I know what you mean, I had to regroup myself as well. It took a lot of mental and emotional strength to get here but, I did. I had a very good support network and that, helped. I am not sure what your age bracket is but, if you are under 40, reinventing yourself, intellectually, academically and, professionally might help. Again, I don't know your situation nor, your financial state. I have no dependents and that, helped a bit. I am under 40 and that did give me a boost. Best of luck to you.
I was laid off two months ago after several years and I'm mentally much better now that I am not stressed out over the daily barrage of idiocy. However, since then I haven't been able to find work and I will be closing in on 50 different applications and resumes given out to companies for positions I was either qualified or over qualified for. This includes a majority of non O&G companies. It's rather discouraging when you once thought you had a real oppurtunity and the bs promises made by a global manager for promotion would happen. I was told he was hopeful next year, well it's next year and I'm out the door with the rest of the unlucky lot. For those who found work again, be thankful.
Sorry, that should read WEATHERFORD, not Arafat. Bad typo.
