Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Ok Follett, now when your on campus stores that had a NE Book off campus store comes up for renewal---don't bend over.

Barnes will now call you out as a competitor to your own stores so don't give in and give the school a higher commission or if so--why make the investment to purchase NE Book. These are the same schools that after the renovation is off their books, they put us out to bid. So operate these off campus stores as they were meant to be operated. In other words, man up like you own this market instead of being a pussy and pay 13% to schools that don't even property support us and honor their contracts.

It's bullshit rhetoric like this that has more schools moving back to self operation. Who needs a corporate overhead to deliver access codes?

Not sure why you complain about commissions, you just pass that on to students.

This bidding war has been going on since Rudy Aversano and before. BN is still a significant competitor and you don't own the market. Getting rid of one less bidder is always a good thing but BN and Follett will continue to escalate on campus bidding as Amazon takes over the online.
