Thread regarding Follett layoffs

The big news leaked out this afternoon at headquarters and I wasn't the least bit shocked.

As the ladies in the musical Chicago said, " They had it coming, they had it coming".

Anyone laid off after Sept gets their bonus. He did not leave on his own terms. He would still be here if he had his choice. Karma for SS.

So, the amount of money he was able to walk away with matters most? I hope he has a clear conscious as well.

Stuck around just to get off on her not winning a lawsuit huh? Makes sense as egotistical jerks trying to make an example of those who challenged them tend to make up the majority of Follett's sad mgmt staff.

TD didn't get karma, yet. He left on his own terms, after bonuses were paid. He guaranteed KM didn't win her lawsuit before he quit - and he wasn't fired. That slime sucking SS didn't fire him. Walking on your own terms with a fat bonus check in pocket is not the karma he deserves. Pound of flesh for Karma? well as far as I'm concerned, that's not even a gram.

KMc, even after every wrongdoing we are survivors! You are a survivor!! Justice has been served, and will continue to make its course.

My point was correct. He did NOT lay her off. I didn't say that he had nothing to do with her leaving. There's a bigger issue here than the regular BS layoffs that occurred as part of the job eliminations, cutbacks, etc. but it ultimately goes back to SS who drove the crap behind all of the consulting with InfoSys. Kate might still be gone as part of the crap going on, but it wouldn't have been under the same circumstances. In fact, she should've just waited to be laid off and gotten severance pay.

Tom Dillon fired Kate because she challenged him and was one of the few with the heart to stand up to IMMORAL and UNETHICAL behavior (reference Code of Conduct). Ultimately, she was punished as many others were for simply not going along and challenging weak ass, dumb ass, unclear ass, "wildly" confusing ass leadership. Karma had Tom first on a list of many whose actions are ready to bite them in the ass. No amount of lying, covering up, etc. will save you!

To Anonymous104729; I agree. Kate drove that department and their successes over the years, and it is in complete disarray since she left. The success of most leaders is really because of their people. That is what was so sad with all the layoffs of good employees.

It is ironic that TD laid off KM. She was responsible for a lot of what he got credit for.

Some might say that IT has built a house of cards, ready to collapse under SS. In fact just look at the number of failures each week and the number of employees just to keep these systems up.

The truth of the matter is every IT employee that was let go was important....but really the company goes on. Hire a few Infosys consultants for each employee let go and IT muddles along. Granted there are no real successes to speak of but the business is still running. Thank god college bookstores/libraries are really stagnant, declining and low innovation industries. And lets not forget that TD laid off KM - karma is a bitch!

Follett is like a leaky old ship. The only reason it's still floating is due to people like TD. He knew how to hold it together and get everything to work as one process. I predict major problems as he leaves. Everyone let go takes away some critical piece of information that will eventually be needed. And guess what - no one there will have the answer. Eventually all of the schools and admin will realize the empty promises.

At this point it doesn't matter if people leave on their own or are treated poorly and decide to lose. Follett continues to bleed talent. Look around, there is not much talent left especially in IT. They can't even get an interface to work. TD is the only reason that Retalon, MMS and CT were such huge successes.

Let's not get too worked up.

CP left on his own. Deeply disappointing as he was one of the old guard who got it. We'll miss him. Treat good people badly and this is what happens.

TD. Was previously announced, Also good and will be missed. Why they let SS continue to push out good people is mystifying.
