Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Follett will never outsource our product support center

Whoever is spreading rumors about outsourcing psc is wrong. The reliability of the support they provide is too strong. Besides who is more capable than the people there right now.

Get a clue, Product Support Centers and the Networking Groups are usually the first groups to be outsourced. Due to the political backing of the new regime by these two groups it was more strategic to let other groups go first, Emphasis on letting the other groups get out sourced first soon the other departments will be out sourced as well, that is if Follett survives.

"Follett will never..." yeah, the last three years have proven that sentence starter to be true at every turn, haven't they?

94387: sarcasm right? I hope you're not naive enough to believe your statement is true at Follett.

That’s a lie. Decisions are based on what the stock value evaluators perceive a positive for the stock value. The company has hemorrhaged money based on senior managements decisions to outsource yet the privately held stock value has increased. Remember the Follett Value … Our share price and dividend are going up each year. Until the house of cards falls.

Outsourcing decisions are based strictly on the performance of a team, and the cost of providing that service. If there are less expensive alternatives, for the same quality.....

Anonymous93646 -- you're right. Most if not all psc at RRD is offshore (India). Handful FT left onsite - rest contractors. That's MLS's model. Bye bye psc! You're right too - one Follett Value now… Our share price and dividend are going up each year—we are fine! CT and CF. So much for a living wage at Follett.

never is the same as always. It could happen. Quantify the value, if you like. I've never seen anyone's analysis based on value (here at Follett), however.

Anonymous93458 you’re right. Wouldn’t be the first time Bloody Mary has taken out a whole department to make Follett stock worth more. This is the model Bloody Mary learned at RRD. Losing talent replacing them with stooges with zero knowledge is the master plan. Remember, there is only one Follett Value now… Our share price and dividend are going up each year—we are fine! CT and CF

Unfortunately all of IT is at risk of outsourcing and just plain layoffs. The business hates IT and blames all issues on IT. This will be a short honeymoon with the new IT leadership they are lining up. As for me, start looking as the end is near.

Experience doesn't matter at all. Look at all of the experienced people that have been replaced by stooges with zero knowledge. Don't count on staying because you have skills. That matters for nothing.

It's about profit, not experience or knowledge. As proof I offer the leadership currently in place, that's never worked in a bookstore. Vs the previous leadership that was chock full of people that worked their way up.
