Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

took over a week for wife to get her order for work

My wife is in charge of purchasing at her work. She places 2 orders a week with Staples. Her company spends 15-thou a month on paper, toners, breakroom suppplies, etc.. 99.9% of the time she has gotten her order the next day. We closed 2 weeks ago. She placed an order on monday the 6th. She didnt get that order til this past Wednesday the 15th! She still has not gotten her 2nd order that she placed on the 9th. She said that the driver who showed up was not very profesional. she said he just left the order at the desk and left. She has time window in place of before 10am, and they are desktop account. the driver was there at 330 pm. She is pissed! She told me that after 10 years (Corprate Express and staples) she is going to look for another office company. Who the f*** decided it was a good idea to go with these 3rd party people needs to have their ass fired! We heard they did this to save money. I guess losing customers and accounts doesnt matter to them. They are going to save 1 billion dollars by closing all the sdo's, and losing 2 billion dollars in customers orders. Does that make since to anybody? To Staples it does. I heard that my sdo supervisor had to go over to the courier and help them deliver. I called him to find out why it is taking over a week to get deliveries. He told me they are going thru an adjustmeant period, and to give it some time. Hell, by the time they get it fixed, they wont have any accounts orcusomters left.

They will run into that problem everywhere. Wait till they start losing accounts like Bank of America, and the healthcare industry, that's going to hurt

Staples treats customers the same way as they treat tenure employees. they are not thinking long term. word of mouth will hurt them more than they realize The people in charge just don't know what they are doing. It's a game to the higher ups. And accually Staples is on the list of top 10 company's going out of business in the next 5 years. And they are #3

Our staples delivery location was shut down april 3rd. I have had several business contacts call me and ask me why they havent received their orders that they placed that following Monday. Mind you, these are not small customers. I worked for staples for 14 years, and made a lot of contacts with my customers. They have called me and told me the crap that has been going on. And these are million dollar accounts! There are a LOT of pissed off customers that have said enough is enough. They are going to go with other office supply companies in the area. Staples did not think about the impact it would have on the customers. These have been loyal customers for 10-20 years. I understand about saving money, but is loosing million dollar accounts worth it? You get what you pay for, and what the customers are getting is shitty service. I hope that sargent is happy. There is no more customer loyalty, or business loyalty anywhere. We had 3 drivers with ove 20 yers of working for staples and coporate express that got shit on with 10 weeks of sevrance pay. Lucky for our area there is more than max and depot. The smaller office supply companies here are going to make a killing if they can offer the product lines, the service, and the professianlism that we did. Mark my words: staples will be out of business within 2 years, and they have no body to blame but themselves.

Amazon. Staples doesn't hold a candle to Amazon.

Go with another office supply company? Staples is the only game now. If the FTC deal goes through, there will not be a large office supply store left. Staples is buying Office Depot which bought Office Max last year. There willnit be other options for pissed consumers, and they will have to deal with it sadly.
