Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Follett Bluebook DECODED

I'm not here to trash Follett.

Instead, I need help from one of the Follett Old Timers who may be reading this board, who wouldn't mind anonymously answering. Forever and ever, Follett has always bought all the new editions that come out. You know, like the new "McConnell Economics" or "Stewart Calculus" or "Campbell Biology." You know what I mean. Nowadays, I find it very hard to find any kind of offer at all for any of the "2016" editions. I can't, for the life of me, understand why. Please, serious answers only. Again, not here to trash them, don't want silly answers like "Lady CEO is saving up her money to get her nails done." All the other wholesalers want to be the "first on the block" to get a hold of the new Mankiw and the new "Spiceland." Why isn't Follett listing those in the Bluebook?

A team will fix this now that they have fixed retail.

the previous poster is absolutely correct, but there is also a push for supplementary online content that is consumable meaning we see fewer new editions that are capable of being resold on their own without carefully priced codes. Overall the demand for use books seems to be decreasing meaning a decrease in volume and price offered to match. There has also been a visible decline in the number of titles one can source from ADC as this trend continues.

We did an analysis and determined that the first year a new edition is out, it is too expensive to buy. Wait 1.78 years and the book drops dramatically. In addition, we have determine that most new editions are not adopted immediately, the proferssor's take 1.38 years to switch and update course information. We base our decisions on statistics and facts.
