Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Help! Confused!

would someone explain all the "kmart" references? I've delved into this board's complaints, hoping to find the correlation through my backtracking, but still don't understand. Is the CEO of Follett someone from Kmart or something like that?

We may not be twelve, but that's how the Sears/Kfart teams treat us. Look at job postings and see how many Sears has. Maybe everyone at Follett should jump ship and take over Sears.

When you’re incompetent you don’t hire the best and brightest, you hire bootlickers. MLS recruited from RRD. I think she hired DG because he’s her bully boy. He’s hired from Kfart and Sears not because they’re smart and talented (Kfart and Sears are not synonymous with success are they?) but because they are his buddies. Smart and talented and knowing the college bookstore and book business would be a threat to him. The rich getting richer.

yes, see it's important to remember Follett has retained the service of a major and some would say infamous PR firm named Edelman. It's also likely they monitor sites like this, because a couple recent hires had a very... selective resume listed. A few here did a little research and discovered they'd left out times spent at Sears or RR Donnelly in the announcement posts. It is not a diverse talent pool, it looks a lot more like rats leaving a sinking ship with nepotism ensuring they find a new ship to spread their plague on. Everyone make sure to check yourself for fleas now.

Read the announcement, or if they try to hide it as they have several times, checked the new hires linked in profile.

Sears/Kmart is a common link for a lot of executive 'talent' recruited in the last two years or so. Mainly the way in which this common link was determine was simple; when a new VP of this or that was announced, you'd notice "oh hey, Kmart/Sears, funny, DG worked there around that time too." As the VP pool has grown, Sears, Officemax, and of course Bloody Mary's own RR have been the primary ports of call for most making the six figure salaries.

And how do we know they came from Kmart?

They keep hiring VPs. Many of them came from Kmart.
