Hi, ex Mattel here. What about the european mattel offices. Have they been hit as well?

Europe it is getting hit very soon!
The European business has been more lucrative for an number of years now. Can't see they having the same kinds of layoffs unless they're trying to get rid of problem employees.
Re: "it takes forever to get rid of an employee (in Europe)": It takes less than 30 minutes to get rid of an ES employee, HR had a busy morning and had to stay on schedule. 8 conference rooms were booked all day for the layoffs. Let this serve as a lesson to anyone who ever hires into Mattel in the future: per the employee agreement, you are an "at-will" employee. Mattel can get rid of you at any time for any reason. Count on it! I'm interviewing outside right now every chance I get. This place is not viable or sustainable after what they did.
Europe is always slower due to laws and labor regulations - it takes forever to get rid of an employee over there. Euro commies!
We have a thriving european business most of the problem are caused by the folks at the top in ES , word is europe will be hit further in april because of employment laws
What do we have in Europe?
This is supposed to be a worldwide cutback, so potentially yes. I heard there is a push to consolidate and close some facilities worldwide. If they are really phasing out the DC in El Segundo, everything else is small potatoes.
