Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Are we going another year without raises?

If we do I bet we'll be losing a lot more people than we already have...

If we don't get raises again this year, I'm gone. We are already underpaid at this company regardless of what the "benefits" may be.

I doubt they will cut pay since all of the over 40 crowd that toiled for years and climbed the ladder pay wise were just pushed out the door. Time to bring the young inexperienced set at a lower pay rate to slave away for the next few years. Vicious cycle.

Don't be surprised if there are across-the-board pay cuts at director level (if there are any left) and below. Consultants are already running the numbers to see how to keep Mattel on life support for as long as possible.

Of course! In the "all hands" pep talk after the bloodbath, there was no empathy whatsoever. VPs said "If you don't like it, there's the door." They'll keep that memorable quote on hand to use for our reviews and bonuses for the next 5 years.
