Exhausted at Staples

Tier 4, cut hours, tasks impossible to complete. We barely block anymore. They just work us to exhaustion with out the hope of actually being good. Poor thing over at copy center had 5 people waiting with no time allotted to actually do any manufacturing. Two people in entire store after close with pressure to get off the clock. If it is not an intentional cash grab our set up to fail then management are idiots and just bad people.

Stores are not run properly. ...its chaos from open to close...I am drained. .the employees are discruntal. ..customers suffer....a big company like staples should be able to see this...just look at your managers face!...sad...they beat you up.....almost break you...then write you up...put on a pip....then your gone!..sad because this could of been the company to work for IF they just listened and worked with the stores to make things better. But no...let's just make it worse..write people up for job not completed when there is no one to do it!.."HOSTILE ENVIOMENT " NERVOUS BREAKDOWN..high STRESS workplace should be on the application

No help...employees are quitting. ..so now it's just the bare minimum ..and no applications for hire...who wants to work 22 hours for poor poor wages....I really don't know why a big company would treat the people so poorly.....no wonder no one wants to work here..terrible pay..horrible benifits. ..too much work for 1 person who cashiers..ups...ink...merch. ..com tech.. carry outs..and furniture. ... not to mention what they were hired to do...it's just insane ..too stressful! ! Then the SUITS come down and tear you apart..I AM better than this!!!!

I also work at a Teir 4 store and we have 5 keyholders. The gm, am, is, cpc sup, and tech sup.

It seems that the DM's need to spend a day, week or month operating a store to get a reality check! Sounds like the workforce needs to take a stand.

All this is accurate to the "T". It is a complete joke. Also, whoever had the idea to put USPS service in store without (dedicated) staff needs to be fired. Customer count has gone up dramatically yet store hours have been reduced. Copy center can't handle it. So you are attracting more people to the store (which is GOOD) but effectively cutting the staff to help them. Then staffing is further reduced because the one O/S associate scheduled is stuck playing mailman rather than trying to convert these mail customers to actual Staples customers. So 9/10 mail customers leave the store without making a purchase other than their postage, with the exception of boxes/tape.

Totally agree. Our store is now tier 4 and lost 2 manager positions so running on essentially 2 keys. Tech supervisor being used as mod and opening/closing. How can you focus on selling selling selling when your mod half of your shift? You got 10 customes in tech with 1 easy tech to help them all and at the same time a line building at the tech bench with managers telling the tech to speed it up. Then you have the ever so long line at copy center with 1 associate running around sweating and customers yelling from self serve for help. Then you have the os person helping 15 customers on the floor who are also the backup cashier as the lines are building to the back of the store. Then theres the impossible list of tasks to get done and no one to do them but getting yelled at that the store isnt hitting budget or epp. Oh and since our open hours got cut customers are prying their way in the store at closing time and bitching about how they cant get theyre copies before 9am anymore....then when the dm and rvp come its a shit storm about how bad you are as a manager and you get written up, come on, gimme a break time to get out
