I've worked for 20 years in IT at WF, Minneapolis. My advice to anyone coming in from the outside is negotiate your salary like crazy, because unless you leave your position you won't be getting any real raises. Cronyism is high; If you're not one of their favorites, you get nothing (.5-1%). Bonuses are completely subjective as well. It's sad because there are some people there with incredible technical talent. They are overshadowed by the people who will throw you to the wolves in a desperate attempt to get enough recognition for that one, desperate .5% increase at the end of the year. The atmosphere becomes most depressing when record profits are announced for the nth year in a row.
