Looking to the Future and Seeing the Promise

Like so many Americans, I sat enthralled by the hit film “The Interns.” Watching the face of innovation right before us in Google as Luke and Vance toured the heart of future thinking was both exciting and inspiring. I would bet that many of you felt that same feeling as you want back to work at Heald the next day. No, there is no “free lunch” like Google, but there is intellectual discourse and engaging academics, really a Vegas buffet for those who feed on the power and promise of an education.

It was this film that gave rise to the concept of “Googlisciousness,” and a parallel “Healdiness” simultaneously took hold. Of course, we see it every day in classes, in offices, even in rest rooms. It is where innovation catches fire and where we all feed, gorging ourselves on the promise of a great education for everyone, not just the yachting set at Vanderbilt, or the polo players at Princeton. This is the sanitation worker trying to pick up an MBA, or that homeless man looking for a warm classroom and a hot “cup ‘a knowledge.” This spirit has spread well beyond our campus walls. What struck me after seeing the path of innovation at Heald was just how much “Healdiness” has become a part of America. Take a moment to let that sink in.

I am not going to waste hours reading SEC filings or waiting for some frivolous religious lawsuit based on Corinthians 15. Instead, I am going to take my lead from “The Interns” and set an educational course for the future. Yeah…it is going to be something amazing. Hold on, because when Healdiness takes hold, it will shake education so much, that even the Richter scale will need to be redefined.

Thats not even the right movie name OP. You must be out of your mind if you think the homeless student is good thing for education. You probably work in corporate headquarters or at Corinthian.

That is hilarious, maybe you can sell it as fantasy short story, I bet you're going to need the cash soon! Thanks for the laugh though!
