Are there still auditors around? I ve been gone for awhile. Back in the day they used to check the expiration dates on medicine. There were some dicks in that group...where are they now? When was your last surprise audit? I remember stories about managers just walking out when they heard an auditor was in the area.

The auditors that came to my store, did not have a clue as to what they were looking for. The consistently missed issues that were right in front of their noses.
You should have been sent to New Jersey for store audits.
The boss always took the Phoenix trips to enjoy the warm weather and his vacation during the cold the winter for himself at the expense and a managerial display of disrespect for everyone else. Selfish, greedy, self-indulgence.....
Audit was made up of good employees, just like many others at Follett. Unfortunately they were outsourced and treated poorly just like many you have. There is no excuse for this behavior. The majority of us have decent jobs now, but the bitter taste of Follett remains.
The same auditor always came to my Phoenix store for audits and inventory. I think this was a department of one as I never met anyone else from audit.
MLS became CEO of follett corporation in November 2012. The prior chairwoman of the board terminated audit in early 2012.
Mary Lee's first mistake at Follett. History has proven it was a bad move. More expensive and less effective using outside auditors.

TG and JH were two of the brightest managers I ever worked for.
A couple of them were asses. But the majority were typical previous Follett employees - bright, dedicated, hard working and cared about Follett. Until the ax fell.
I remember them a little differently...some of them were jerks.
I appreciated the fairness that the auditors demonstrated.
Those guys were always helpful during our year end inventories. I always felt that my inventory and shrink numbers were accurate.
Audit was very efficient and effective. They improved the operational processes at the store level while also ensuring protection of company assets. Audit is an important function at any company, but especially a retailer with distributed operations.
Seems risky to stop doing store audits when so many employees are unhappy and being taken advantage of.
They did a great job of making sure operations were running smoothly and theft was kept to a minimum. Fernandez!!!!
At my store they kept publicizing our copar/freight add on to retail pricing which violated our contract with the school.
The auditors were one of the first groups outsourced at twice the original cost. This was Mary Lee's first task as president. There is no more internal audit or store audits. Like most the other laid off employees, I found a new job that is much better although I was ticked off with how it was done and the way we were treated.
