Thread regarding Follett layoffs

No mass layoffs, it is now force outs

Leadership has learned. Avoid the high publicity mass layoffs. Force out the employees through high stress attrition, retirement etc. Look at the number of employees that left on their own. So many talented employees.

Take that first step and look for new opportunities outside of Follett. Better to have a job while looking for a new one. Plus, if there is a bonus, you need to be on the payroll at 4/1 to get it.

It's alright to be scared. Remember, there is no courage without fear.

How can the people running this company key this continue? I know they read this board. Are they just that incompetent that they can't see this ship is sinking?

@72382, I concur! If you are lucky enough and believe in your skill set enough...you will land a better job

with a better company in under 3 months. That does not excuse discrimination. If you were discriminated against, you have a better chance obtaining a lawyer.

Suddenly stupid. You have years of solid reviews. You are assigned a department that you've never worked in and where you have no competency. You're given no guidance. You're criticized about the outcomes. You're criticized for how you receive criticism. When you ask for help or guidance, you're questioned as to your fitness for this job. You're suddenly stupid. You're on your way out. Prepare for it. It hurts and you think you should fight it. Just know there are no lawyers who will take your case, if you try to sue. Unless you have memos that proves you've been targeted, you're out of luck. You'll be told it's not against the law for your boss to be an asshole. If you really want to stay, perhaps you can reason with your tormentor. They have to know they'll be on list being held by someone else. Reason with them that Follett has been using this tactic for a couple of years. You can survive together. I doubt it will work. SO, you'll have decades into follett. You have no equity. You will get no severance. It's how these scumbags work. If you're suddenly stupid, get a good support network in place. It's not you and your network will help you remember that. Second, take inventory of all of your skills and accomplishments. Finally, find a new job. I'm sorry to inform you, your old job is dead.

For those like myself who refuse to be intimidated into quitting, they find reasons to fire. Just be careful of those reasons!
