Thread regarding Heald College layoffs

Flyers are still all over campus for the CalGrant Heald Workshop, can someone tell me why?

This is misleading, just like the employees telling students as recent as TODAY that their is a buyer for Heald and that Heald is totally separate from CCI, so sign up for more debt. Really, when is the dump closing?

358--anyone who knows about Cal Grant and the supposed workshops at Heald understands that Heald directs the student to list Heald first which is the school that CSAC uses to determine eligibility. If indeed Heald loses it's ability to participate in the CG program then Heald is most definitely misleading students. Is FA really helping students or just buckling under the immense pressure of castrated CAO and useless CP's to have the largest numbers apply?

A "Cal Grant Workshop" at Heald is merely assisting students in completing their FAFSA and encouraging them to obtain academic transcripts from all institutions attended so they may be considered for grants by CSAC. You can enter up to five institutions on a FAFSA so students are welcome to list every school they may be interested in attending. While it is highly unlikely Heald will be eligible for Cal

Grants after March and highly doubtful it will be open for the 15/16 academic year I'm glad to hear that FA is still helping students with their paperwork.

Heald/CCI always operates right at the edge of what is legal, and frequntly over the edge of what is ethical. Never mind that Heald will very likely be ineligible for CalGrants at the end of March...that is over a month away! Sign-up now!
