Dear Mike: I tried being "part of the solution" and was fired after refusing to act in an unethical manner ( go ahead, naysayers....take your best shot). It was a blessing in disguise. Now, in addition to a much better job, I have the satisfaction of watching my tormentors twisting in the wind or desperately trying to find something else. And the solution? My interaction with DoE and the AG in my state helped me to ultimately be part of the solution. I am sorry for my colleagues hurt by the closures and the students left in the lurch, but sometimes eradicating cancer affects healthy tissue as well
